U ROCK climbing team is organizing an outdoor climbing event on Sunday, August 16th, 2020 in Tannourine El Tahta.

Tanourine El Tahta is a mountainous area located in the Batroun District in North Lebanon 75 km from the capital Beirut, with an approximate altitude of 924 meters above sea level.

Levels: Easy to advanced.

What to wear

• A loose & comfortable top/t-shirt,
• Long pants to protect your knees from scratches & abrasions,
• Keep a wind stopper jacket on you all the times, just in case of a cold breeze,
• Having your climbing shoes is ideal, otherwise, you can rent a pair from U ROCK.

What to bring

• Bring your own cold lunch, snacks & beverages, or check the Food & Accommodation section below.
• DON’T FORGET to BRING 2~3 Liters of WATER for the entire day, per person (Avoid plastic bottles).
• Bring your own health insurance & personal first aid kit in case of an emergency, including a MASK & an ALCOHOL-BASED HAND SANITIZER.

Gathering

For the schedule to run as smoothly as possible, it is important to be on time by 7:30 AM at Wooden Bakery – Jal El Dib Highway, where you can have your breakfast: We will leave at 8:00 AM SHARP, heading to the climbing site directly.

Transportation

Currently, we DO NOT PROVIDE transportation. You need to have your own car or share a ride/carpool with any of the attendees.

Fees include both equipment & guidance

• LBP 40,000 / person,
• LBP 30,000 if you show your valid membership,
• LBP 10,000 / pair of shoes rented (for those who have already mentioned that in the application form)

Payment

This year, in order to facilitate the payment of the event’s fees, you should confirm your attendance by paying the participation fees MAXIMUM 2 days after you register online, using one of the following methods:

1. In-person to one of our team members at U ROCK climbing gym,
2. At any OMT location near you, by providing the OMT agent with the following required documents and information:
   • The money transfer details filled on the form available at OMT locations,
   • Your valid government-issued ID or Passport,
   • The Receiver’s first and last names: JAD BOU CHEBL +961-3-807854
   • The amount you wish to send, e.g. 2x 40,000 LBP
   • Make sure to mention that the receiver will bare the charges.
     
     Once you sign your receipt and receive your OMTN number, provide the receiver, JAD BOU CHEBL via WhatsApp with:
     • The OMTN number (Online Money Transfer Number) 12 digit number,
     • Your full name (and the name of your friends if you paid on behalf of them),
     • The amount you sent.

You can pay for the climbing shoes rental, on the day of the event as soon as you receive your pair: Please have the exact amount on you.

Equipment & Damage

You are responsible for any rented/used equipment during the event, especially the climbing shoes.

Any damage will incur an extra charge on the participant: the amount will be defined accordingly and might go up to the total cost of the item as per the current market price, in case of a no-repair condition.

Food & Accommodation

This year, we are partnering with Laze Fountain Hotel. When you climb with us, you benefit from a 20% discount on whatever you order from the restaurant. Just give them your name & the mobile number that you used to register, and enjoy your lunch or coffee break with a view over the crags.

Do you want to wake up at your ease, have a calm breakfast, and avoid driving for 1 hour to reach the climbing site? Laze Fountain Hotel is offering 20% on the booking of riverside or mountainside room.
